The Song of Colours: A Journey Beyond Words

In a world dominated by definitions and boundaries, The Song of Colours unfolded as an invitation to step beyond—beyond words, beyond labels, beyond structured perceptions of art. Facilitated by Jaai Deolalkar, this art appreciation session was more than just an exploration of technique and form; it was an immersive journey into the essence of colour, movement, and feeling.

Participants gathered, curious yet unsure, only to find themselves gradually letting go of preconceptions. As the session unfolded, Jaai guided everyone through the nuances of children’s art, abstract art, and the silent language of colours and lines. Instead of searching for meaning, we were encouraged to experience—to allow colours to speak, to let shapes emerge organically, to witness the interplay of light and emotion without the compulsion to explain.

The session culminated in a hands-on experience, where each participant became a part of the artistic process. Brushes, fingers, and even hands met the canvas, moving freely, without hesitation. The space resonated with the joy of pure, uninhibited creation—where art was not about perfection but about presence, where colour became a rhythm, a melody, a personal journey.

This workshop also set the stage for Jaai Deolalkar’s exhibition (15th – 22nd March 2025), a mesmerizing showcase of works inspired by the wilderness—its shifting hues, raw beauty, and quiet mystery. Her paintings, deeply intuitive and layered, invite viewers to experience nature not just as an external landscape but as an inner state of being.

The session left its participants transformed—eyes seeing a little differently, hands remembering the joy of play, and hearts reconnecting with the simple, profound act of creating. Perhaps the greatest takeaway was this: art is not just seen, it is felt. And in that feeling, we find something beyond words—something deeply, beautifully human.
